About Me

Hi, I’m Charlotte, I’m a singer-songwriter, violinist, violist, and multi-instrumentalist, from Vancouver, BC.

I commenced my musical journey on the violin and on the piano, at the age of 4. Inspired by my older sister - a violinist - I pursued violin throughout my childhood and youth, taking lessons with the Mount Royal University Conservatory, located in Calgary, AB, and with the Vancouver Academy of Music, located in Vancouver, BC. I also participated in the Vancouver Youth Symphony orchestra. Additionally, I took lessons as a singer-songwriter, as a pianist, and as a violist. Furthermore, throughout high school, I played trombone with my school’s band.

Beginning when I was too young for a formal job, I began busking full-time around Vancouver, BC, to fund musical recordings as a singer-songwriter. I began recording music at Creative Music Studio, North Vancouver, at age 12, and at Bryan Adams’s studio, Vancouver, BC, at age 18. I’ve held a record deal as a teenager, in electronic dance music, and at the age of nineteen, was offered a publishing contract, with a United States-based company. I’ve worked with incredible musicians through writing and recording music, and have had song placements on independent radio shows, on film and TV shows, such as “The Young and the Restless,” and have won local songwriting contests.

As a performer, I have continued busking full-time in Calgary, AB, and have performed daily at local cafes and venues, in addition to busking full-time as a violinist for a living. Last year, I performed at the Sien Lok gala and at the Rotary Convention. I also used my additional busking earnings to fund my latest upcoming CD. Additionally, I have re-immersed myself in violin and in viola lessons, and seek to audition with local symphony orchestras in the coming months. Music has always been - and will always be - the greatest love of my life. However, I also love cats. I have a family cat, pictured below, and two Bengal/ Scottish Fold cats named Katy & Perry, also pictured below. I’ve completed more than 3 years of studies as a former physics and astrophysics major of my university.
